Meet Our Team: Reim Medhurst

13 Jul 2023

The strong personal relationships we’ve built with clients over our decades of lending are at the heart of our business. We believe in good, old-fashioned banking — no call centres or automated responses — with a trusted team of experts at the end of the phone. Here we meet some familiar and less familiar faces, who help ensure Commercial Acceptances longevity and success.

This meet our team blog is from Lending Manager Reim Medhurst, who shares some background on how she got into property finance, her inspirations and much more!

Can you describe your role in one sentence?

As a Lending Manager within CA, I look after clients’ property transactions from start to finish, which involves every aspect throughout the life cycle of a loan, from structuring their original finance requirements right through to repayment of their facility.

What have been some of the most rewarding moments of your time at CA?

Not to sound cliché, but the most rewarding moments are each time a client picks up the phone to discuss their next transaction. It reinforces the strength of our relationships and the trust our clients have in us to deliver a truly personal service.

How did you get into Bridging Finance as a career?

I came into bridging finance after studying Economics at University. I knew I wanted to work in financial services in some shape or form. It’s a fast-paced, challenging sector but I’ve had the opportunity to work with fantastic people.

Which personal characteristics have you been able to grow the most while at CA?

I’ve enhanced my analytical skills, particularly when considering legal title.  Working with our MD Daniel Hertz has significantly helped enhance my skills, he has invaluable experience and knowledge of the property sector which I tap into on a daily basis.

Where is your favourite place to travel?

There are many, but Seville has to be one of my favourites – it has good weather, great culture, fabulous food and lovely people!

What is your favourite album, artist or podcast?

It’s hard to choose one, but I always start the day with my own playlist which is filled with incredibly upbeat songs from the likes of Luther Vandross and Bill Withers!

What is one of your proudest moments?

Probably moving to Madrid on my own at aged 20, that experience really fueled a lot of personal growth, as well as perfecting my Spanish!

Can you speak more than one language?

Yes … Spanish!

Who inspires you?

My mum, always, she is incredible! She’s been running a successful business for 20 years so is a true role model. She always gives the best advice and has taught me to always be myself!

What kind of properties/schemes have been the most memorable in your time at CA?

A client of ours recently converted a former medical centre which had been vacant for a number of years into 8 self-contained flats. With schemes like this, it’s great to see our clients adding real value to the local area by upcycling old abandoned buildings.
